Coincidences, Conversations & Good Food

Today, Lunch Partners Moni G and PaulOS along with another of Moni's colleagues, planned to go to Sec 17 for lunch.

I have been so busy that I didn't really find the time to arrange for lunch with Coolcat..

So I picked up the 2 ladies and proceeded to go for our pre-agreed Chicken Rice at Sec17, problem is.. I think I forgot where it exactly was, so as i drove around that area... I spied a curious word... Khasiat Cafe, and I exclaimed to both my passengers, "Khasiat Cafe!!", they looked at me incredibulously.. then Moni G, almost immediately remembered that this was the Khasiat Cafe Coolcat had blogged about.. so we changed our minds about having chicken rice. We were also quite hungry and a parking spot presented itself almost immediately, as if we were predestined to have lunch at Khasiat cafe.

We took pictures of the food and hope to post it later..

Here's my rating for the place.. will wait for Moni G to rate it too

I had Pork Rib Rice

Taste : 4.5 /5 - Could've tasted better, but I guess they'd have to put MSG,
Value for Money : 5/5 - RM5 for a sizzling hot plate, meat and fried egg.
Ambience : 3/5 - Not hot at all
Service : 3/5 - Waiter couldn't present things well, but it is after all a coffee shop.
Parking : 4.5/5 - easy parking, even though it was a bit tight

Moni G had Chicken Sweet Sour on Sizzling Hot Plate

Taste :
Value for Money :
Ambience :
Service :
Parking :

Other colleague, BL, decided to have Chicken rice... no comments.. i think

Coolcat had food not too far away from us, at the Food Foundry, so close yet so far.. We've all been busy with our own things..

Moni G, BL and I had a good laugh over lunch, about an obscure ex-colleague calling Moni G up, for the most frivilous and unrelated reasons.. BL and I, told her, he was out to fish her.. :)

Food does indeed loosen the tongue and make good conversation.. ahhh.. another satisfactory lunch :D

*Next episode : Buka Puasa (Hopefully)*

Food Foundry... Again

Went to Food Foundry today and finally had the Chicken Cordon Bleu that I was dying to eat nearly month ago.

It was ok lar. I'd give it a 3.5/5. Factor in the fact that I was famished by then, it really wasn't outstanding. Famished stomachs are supposed to make food taste better mar.

Left my camera in my knapsack, so no pics today :P

On This Trip I learnt to add on to my culinary skills
1. Cooking Chicken Curry in a more time saving way (and to get better taste) mixing powders
2. Cooking Fish Curry - the ingredients
3. Making Thosai - the good way
4. Increased skills of frying cutlet

Unique Seafood With The Bosses

At one point in time, my bosses loved bringing us to Unique Seafood for lunch. Every single day. The food was great - the seafood was fresh and tasty. But this went on for months. And we eventually got sick of it. So they ceased going there so frequently.

Lo and behold, we started to miss the sumptious cuisine there. And today after a long, long while the bosses brought us there to eat. We had escargot, fried fish, eggs with bitter gourd, Hong Kong kai lan, succulent mutton and warm bread and juicy mangos for dessert.

I'll have to give it a 5/5 rating. No pics, because of the bossies' presence :P

Lunch at Cyberjaya

Lunch was surprisingly good. I had indian food from the cafe at Ericsson with a friend of mine who is coincidentally my client too. The varieties there are excellent and the cafe resembles a hotel. Great ambience and superb food. I would give a 4.5 out of 5. My lunch was a fast one, and that was the only slack bit but apart from that, everything else was good :).

Chicken from Home

Yep, this was what I had for lunch.

I rate it 5/5. Home cooked food rawks.

Ho Hum...

Lunch just some tar pau (take-away) stuff today.. from the Halal(Kosher) Chinese Food Stall

Nyonya Chicken with Rice actually one of my favourites

Taste : 4.5 /5 - Since it's my favourite food yes.. but today not so good.. hence the 4.5
Value for Money : 3/5 - RM4 is ok lah.. if RM3 will surely get at 5/5 from me!!
Ambience : 5/5 - Pantry - aircond and free water
Service : 5/5 - food was delivered to the pantry and my colleague sms-ed me to get the foodies
Parking : 5/5 -food was delivered to me by my colleague

Overall Rating : 4.5

Of course influenced by my office settings.. we'll see how it rates when I have lunch at this Halal Chinese Food Stall

cheers..

Ipohhhhhhh foodie

It was lunch time and we were clueless as to where to eat. A colleague suggested the Ipoh Street which is supposedly a reasonably priced eatery. So...what else? we headed there happily. I had chicken rice, hehehe...hence the name of the eatery. Errrrr...i would say, 2.5/5. Food's kinda cheap but taste wise, just so so. Nothing to shout about but enough to fill the stomach :P.

Pork Rib Rice

*This is a non-halal post*

We went to Khasiat Cafe again. This time without the seniors. But when we reached there, the seniors were already there. We sat at another table because I wanted to take foodie pics. I know Mark, for one would love to see pics of what I describe here :)

Yeah, I know I've been stuffing myself silly with pork. But I can't help myself. I love that thing. So here we go again - this time I had Sizzling Pork Rib Rice. Notice the egg on the top and the yummy sambal on the sides. I'd give it a 4.5/5 for taste and value for money - RM5 for the whole thing! Parking's easy too.

*Happy sigh*

The Lunch That Didn't Happen!

This week's a busy week.. so was the last weekend..

I left my phone at home today, so I didn't get see the call from DJ Moni G, obviously because the phone was at home. I went home and got it, which by then was too late to join them at the Halal Chinese Stall near my office (Sec 19, Rothman's Roundabout)

Hence I went home, was only able to grab a Ribena (left over from THE Carnival)
Came to the office bought 2 Ramen Noodles, 1 Pack of Tandoori Twisties... all prepared to cook the noodles in the office..

Alas.. the microwave was not functioning.... So twisties it was.. then a colleague passed me 2 Mini-Bars of Milky Way..

and that was lunch.. *sigh*

Siew Yuk Kai Fan at Khasiat Cafe

Had chicken and roasted pork rice for lunch today. Not too bad lar. Was in the company of some very senior people, so it would be awkward to snap pics of me foodies :P

We observed that it was getting harder and harder to find a seat in Khasiat Cafe. Prior to this, they only had Tai Chow and Economy Rice. With the addition of the Pan Mee, Chicken Rice and Seremban Beef Noodle stalls, business is booming.

When it gets too packed, it may be time to find another favourite food place to haunt.
